加拿大办公室同事说“put the cat among the pigeons”,我差点问:谁把猫带来了?

Maybe we should require everyone to come in three days a week.”
“Well, that’ll put the cat among the pigeons.”
这下可要put the cat among the pigeons了。
“Wait… what cat?”
“Why are there pigeons?”
Mike
“No, no. It means this is going to cause a lot of trouble.”
“If we change the policy, people are definitely going to have opinions.”
“Especially people who moved farther away.”
put the cat among the pigeons,就是扔出一个可能让所有人都炸起来的话题,引起混乱、争议,甚至挑起一场风波。
“So, did you find the cat?”
“Yeah. It was the work-from-home policy.”
要是你第一次听到“put the cat among the pigeons”,你会想到什么画面?
