美剧学英语:put on the dog - 加拿大公司聚餐,同事说“put on the dog”,我真给老板的狗穿上了……

“They’re really putting on the dog tonight.”
“他们今晚可真要put on the dog了。”

“So… where do I put this on the dog?”

Mike
“No! ‘Put on the dog’ means to dress fancy or show off a little.”

“Well, NOW we’re really putting on the dog.”
“好了,现在我们可真的是putting on the dog了。”
