加拿大办公室同事说“on the spur of the moment”,我低头看了一眼他的鞋……

同事Mike突然收电脑:“We’re driving to Banff tonight. We decided on the spur of the moment.”
Wait… what spur?”
Like… cowboy spur? On your boots?”
No, no. ‘On the spur of the moment’ means we decided suddenly.”
on the spur of the moment不是“在某个时刻的马刺上”,而是没提前计划,突然起意、临时决定。
比如:
“We booked the trip on the spur of the moment.”
“We’re leaving in an hour. Wanna come?”
“Sure. On the spur of the moment.”
