加拿大房东说“on the grounds of…”,我低头看了半天地板

美剧学英语:on the ground of - 加拿大房东说“on the grounds of…”,我低头看了半天地板

“We can’t reject an applicant on the grounds of race or religion.”

on the ground……

“Sorry, do you mean… here on the floor?”

“No, no. ‘On the grounds of’ means ‘because of’ or ‘for the reason of’.”
“不是不是,on the grounds of 是‘因为……

on the grounds of discrimination

on the grounds of safety

“The request was denied on the grounds of security concerns.”
