“Your transfer is delayed on account of the holiday.”
on account of。
“Which account? My chequing account?”
“No, I mean it’s delayed on account of the holiday.”
“Do I need to check something in my account?”
“No, no. ‘On account of’ just means ‘because of’.”
“不是不是,on account of 就是 because of,因为。”
“Your transfer is delayed on account of the holiday.”
“The meeting was cancelled on account of the weather.”
