加拿大办公室同事说“let the cat out of the bag”,我第一反应:公司里什么时候有猫了?

美剧学英语:let the cat out of the bag - 加拿大办公室同事说“let the cat out of the bag”,我第一反应:公司里什么时候有猫了?

“Don’t tell Sarah. It’s a surprise.”

“Why is everyone staying late today?”

“Oh, I think they’re preparing something for your birthday.”

“Oh no, you just let the cat out of the bag!”

Cat?
Bag?

“Wait… there’s a cat here?”

Mike

Sarah
“No cat. He means you spoiled the surprise.”

let the cat out of the bag根本不是“把猫从袋子里放出来”,

“Who told her about the promotion?”

“Jake let the cat out of the bag.”

“Oh my God! I had NO idea!”
