Emily突然压低声音说:“I heard through the grapevine that Mark is leaving.”

We have grapevines outside?”

Emily愣了一秒:“Uh… what?”

You said you heard it through the grapevine. I thought someone was talking outside near the grapes.”

It means I heard a rumor. Someone told someone, and it got around.”

So, I heard through the grapevine that you were looking for grapes.”
