So, is there anything you'd like to discuss about your role?”
“Well… I really enjoy working here, and everything is great, but recently the rent has gone up…”
And groceries are getting expensive too…”
“Jon, stop beating around the bush. What do you want?”
Which bush?”
No, no! I don't mean an actual bush!”
beating around the bush
Just tell me directly.”
“Okay. I'd like to discuss a salary increase.”
Perfect. That's much easier.”
