美剧说英语:a slip of the tongue - 加拿大家庭聚餐里朋友说“a slip of the tongue”,我第一反应是:舌头滑伤了?

“She already got the offer—oh, sorry, that was a slip of the tongue.”

A slip of the tongue?

“Are you okay? Did you bite your tongue?”

Mark

“My tongue?”

“You said it slipped.”

“He means he accidentally told us something he wasn’t supposed to.”

“Sorry, that was a slip of the tongue.”

“Well, now everyone knows.”

Mark

“And apparently my tongue is injured too.”
